Natalie Smith

Biography:

Natalie qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and joined Sonn Macmillan Walker in 2005. Natalie is now an associate solicitor with the firm.

Natalie principally conducts serious criminal casework preparation. To that end she has become a solicitor advocate with higher rights of audience in the criminal courts. Natalie is also an experienced police station advisor and advocate in the Magistrates’ Court. Natalie works with Tim Walker in the management of the Crown Court department.

Notable recent cases include:

• R v Jones – Double shooting in south London. Allegations of murder, attempted murder and being concerned in the supply of drugs. Trial took place at the Central Criminal Court. Bernard Richmond QC led David Kitson.

• R v M Siad – Multi handed conspiracy to wound with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Trial took place at the central criminal court.

• R v Idemudia – Conspiracy to Rob. The case involved robberies of bureau de change offices in travel agents in greater London and the south-east of England. This case didn’t proceed to trial after the crown offered no evidence on the eve of trial.

• R v Elda Beguinua – Advanced fee fraud perpetrated by Bogus Countess. Media took great interest in this case which took place at. Southwark Crown Court

• R v Ahmed and Alom –Conspiracy to supply class A drugs as a consequence of a very large test purchase operation conducted by Police in Tower Hamlets, at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
