David Sonn

Biography:

David qualified as a solicitor in 1987. He practised as a commercial lawyer with Paisner & Co and then worked for a well known investment bank in both their legal and corporate finance departments. He left the commercial arena in 1991 and commenced work as a criminal lawyer. In 1992, he established DJ Sonn & Co.

David is a solicitor advocate, regularly appearing in the Crown Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. Over the years David has conducted many notable cases and features in the current edition of Chambers UK as an expert in the field of general crime and white collar crime.

David has considerable experience in defending clients facing all manner of criminal prosecutions. He is recognised as an expert in white collar crime and road traffic prosecutions. David is a founding and executive member of the Association of Motor Offence Lawyers, in addition to which he lectures on road traffic law and regularly appears in the news media. David is a member of the Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Association.

David is often the solicitor of choice in relation to high profile cases where clients not only require the highest level of skill but also discretion. David was involved in the “cash for peerages” investigation and the investigation by the City of London Police in relation to corrupt practices in professional football.

In addition to pure criminal practice, David has considerable experience in relation to cash seizure, confiscation and asset recovery proceedings. He also undertakes actions against the police.
