Tim Walker

Biography:

Tim qualified as a solicitor in 1995. In 2001, he founded Walkers Solicitors based in Stoke Newington. In 2006, Walkers merged with Sonn Macmillan, creating one of central London’s largest criminal defence practices.

Tim has represented animal rights activists, hunt saboteurs, anti-roads protestors, anti-capitalists, arms trade protestors and environmental activists charged with offences ranging from minor by-law breaches to major conspiracies involving blackmail. Notably he acted for defendants in the recent cases of R v Clarke and others and R v Amos and others. Both cases were major prosecutions of animal rights activists.

Tim is head of the Crown Court department supervising and conducting cases across the criminal spectrum. In addition to acting for protestors, Tim specialises in defending those charged with very serious crimes and regularly appears in the Crown Court as an advocate.

Recent cases include having defended clients charged with murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to cause grevious bodily harm, firearms offences and offences relating to organised crime.
