Offer of No Evidence on Mortgage Fraud Case
We represented a client facing multiple charges of mortgage fraud.
HMRC brought a case against our client before Kingston Crown Court. The trial lasted 10 days, during which weaknesses in HMRC’s financial investigation came to light through cross-examination.
As a consequence, the HMRC offered no evidence against our client, having concluded that there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.
Rachel Hobba was the solicitor with conduct of this case. She instructed Isobel McCarroll of 23 Essex Street Chambers.
