Early Police Bail and Expert Pre-Charge Advice

Our client was arrested in June 2023 on suspicion of possessing indecent images and released on police bail. Initially represented by another firm, he later sought pre-charge advice from David Sonn, who successfully secured varied bail conditions and guided our client on how best to prepare, anticipating a likely guilty plea.

Charges and Court Proceedings

In May 2025, our client was formally charged with possessing a significant number of indecent images of children—including 36 category A images (17 still, 19 moving), 30 category B images, 30 category C images—and sexual communication with a child. Daniel Cavaglieri took over representation at court, advising a guilty plea while successfully negotiating with the CPS to reduce the last charge to attempted sexual communication, due to uncertainty over the age of the contact.

Mitigation and Sentencing Success

Daniel compiled a thorough mitigation package featuring expert reports and character references. Tasmin Malcolm of Crucible Law represented our client at Isleworth Crown Court on 11 August 2025, persuading the Judge to impose a 9-month prison sentence suspended for 24 months, avoiding immediate custody.
