Katie Lobo
Katie joined Sonn Macmillan Walker in May 2023 and qualified as a solicitor in September 2025.
Katie works within the Crown Court Litigation Department, with a particular focus on assisting younger clients facing proceedings in the Crown Court. She also acts for clients in civil matters and regularly provides representation at police stations across London.
Prior to joining the firm, Katie worked as a paralegal at another leading criminal defence practice, gaining experience across a broad spectrum of cases including very high costs cases and inquests.
During her training contract at Sonn Macmillan Walker, Katie worked on a variety of cases, supervised by Amy Cox, Head of Crown Court Litigation and Leah Connolly in the Youth Court Department. This provided her with a diverse skill set and solid foundation for her practice, including experience in conducting POCA matters and privately funded civil matters, such as challenging Account Freezing Orders. She became an accredited Police Station Legal Representative in April 2025.
Katie completed her law degree at Birmingham City University in 2019 and went on to complete a Masters’ specialising in criminal law the following year at the University of Law.
She has gained experience working on a broad spectrum of cases involving offences including homicide, serious violence, sexual offences, and large-scale drug conspiracies including complex Encrochat matters.
Katie is professional yet friendly in her nature and forms fantastic relationships with both clients and counsel. Her hard work and commitment are evident and she offers support and clarity to clients when advising about their cases.
Katie is already building herself a great reputation for her detailed work and going the extra mile for her clients.
