ABH Discontinued After Written Representations
We represented a client who was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a prison officer. Our client was alleged to have assaulted the officer causing minor lacerations to her face.
We made written representations regarding the strength of the evidence, arguing our client was acting in self-defence during an assault by another prisoner who was armed with a weapon.
The Crown discontinued the case, securing an excellent result for our client and demonstrating the importance of making representations wherever it is appropriate to do so.
This case was prepared by Chris Stevens.
