Acquittals secured for attempted robbery and unlawful wounding
Our client was 18 years old at the time of charge, and was extremely vulnerable. She has a history of trauma and mental health issues. She was prosecuted in relation to one count of attempted robbery and one count of unlawful wounding.
During our case preparation, we instructed a psychologist to asses our client to help better understand her past trauma. The case took two years to come to trial, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, after a four day trial at Kingston Crown Court, the jury unanimously acquitted our client of all counts. Our client was extremely relieved.
This case was prepared by Leah Connolly and Victoria Jackson. Nick Bonehill of 2 Bedford Row was instructed counsel.
