Kano acquittal

By Fiona Haddadeen  |  06.09.2017

We are delighted to report the acquittal of Kane Robinson aka Kano.

Grime artist Kano was accused of attacking a couple at Shoreditch House in London. He faced one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of unlawful wounding and one count of affray, but the couple didn’t turn up to court.

The judge told Kano that he could leave court ‘without a stain on your character’.

The prosecution offered no evidence in the case against him after we established that the complainant in his case had posted entries on social media suggesting he had no intention of giving evidence in court.

In entering formal not guilty verdicts, HHJ Perrins is reported as having said that he walked free from court “without a stain on [his] character.”

He was represented by Cecilia Goodwin and Fiona Haddadeen of this firm and Jeremy Dein QC of 25 Bedford Row Chambers.
