Cambridge academic jailed for Green Energy fraud

Sonn Macmillan Walker acted for Cambridge academic Dr Ehsan Abdi Jalebi who pleaded guilty to 13 counts of forgery with a total value of over £1m.

The forgery related to 80 invoices and supporting bank statements which Dr Jalebi created. The effect of this was to increase the funding to which his companies were entitled from the Department for Energy and Climate Change, Innovate UK and the EU. The firm also acted when the Border Force seized £116,000 in cash from Dr Abdi Jalebi.
