Conditional discharge for domestic assault
Our client assaulted his wife in public.
He slapped her twice to her face while at a train station. While domestic violence in any context is treated as an aggravating factor we were able to persuade the Court that our client, a person of good character who had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity, should be dealt with at the lowest point on the range of appropriate sentences as set out in the Magistrates’ Court Sentencing Guidelines. He received a conditional discharge.
Alex Whitmore acted for our client.
