Conspiracy to supply acquittal
Sonn Macmillan Walker successfully defended its client at Snaresbrook Crown Court in connection with two conspiracies to supply 168kg and 1183 kg of cannabis.
In a surveillance operation lasting many months, mounted by the Metropolitan and Thames Valley police, our client was seen at his company’s haulage yards on two separate occasions when it was alleged he was involved in the supply of the cannabis. By painstaking analysis of the surveillance footage and the skilful deployment of legal argument, the trial Judge was persuaded to withdraw the matter from the jury at the close of the prosecution case, and not guilty verdicts were entered. Sonn Macmillan Walker’s client had been granted bail earlier in the proceedings when the prosecution’s application to extend the custody time limits was successfully opposed. Our client was represented by Brian Altman QC, and David Sonn and Jessica Dunk at this office.
