Suspended Sentence for Drug Charges

By Amy Cox  |  06.04.2023

Our client was pleaded guilty to numerous drug offences. He faced 3 counts of possession with intent to supply class A, 1 count of possession with intent to supply class B, and 2 counts possession with intent to supply class C drugs.

At sentencing, the Prosecution sought to place our client in a significant role which meant that he faced a sentencing starting point of 3-and-a-half-years imprisonment.

We put forward strong mitigation and our client received a 24-month custodial sentence suspended for 24 months, with 200 hours of unpaid work. The client contacted us to say

“thanks to all the team who has looked after my case. I’m grateful for the result of the case and once again it’s all thanks to you all”

and added that he was “speechless in how grateful and thankful” he was for this result.

This case was prepared by Amy Cox, assisted by Annie Loh. Hannah Edwards from 25 Bedford Row Chambers was instructed.
