No Further Action Taken Against Client Accused Of Kidnap And Robbery

01 January 0001

Our client was arrested and taken to Lewisham Police Station on suspicion of kidnap, and robbery. The allegation concerned an incident in which a group of men, in a convoy of expensive cars including a Lamborghini and a Range Rover drove to a location in North London at night to kidnap a target and rob them of a large suitcase full of cannabis. The group thought they had spotted their target on Whittington Road N22 and attempted to kidnap him. During this attempt the complainant was shown a firearm but, he managed to escape before the group realised their mistake. The convoy then moved on to their target’s address. Two men left the convoy and forced their way into the house, dragging the complainant out and taking with them the suitcase which they were after. Minutes later the complainant was freed and the convoy drove off. CCTV captured this part of the incident.

Our client admitted being part of the convoy but, denied any involvement with the planning or execution of the plan. He stated that he had been picked up and had joined the group without knowing what they planned to do. Our client was advised to put forward a statement denying the offences and asserting that none of the men visible in the CCTV footage were him. For the remainder of the interview, he answered no comment to all questions. Sometime later we were informed by police that they had decided to take no further action against our client.
