Luke Green
Luke joined Sonn Macmillan Walker in September 2025. Luke is an accredited police station representative and also works as a paralegal in the magistrates' court department.
Luke works under the supervision of Daniel Cavaglieri in both the magistrates’ court team and the police station team. Luke splits his time between overseeing his caseload in the magistrates’ court and attending the police station to represent people who are being interviewed by the police after having been arrested.
Luke graduated with a BA in Geography from University of Oxford in 2017. Before joining SMW, Luke completed the Legal Practice Course at University of Westminster and subsequently went on to complete a Legal Studies LLM at the University of Bologna in Italy. He has worked previously as a bilingual legal assistant at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, an administrative officer at the Central London Employment Tribunal, and as a paralegal at another criminal defence firm in London.
Luke excels at explaining criminal law and procedure to clients, many of whom have never encountered the criminal justice systems before, in a way that put those in difficult situations at ease. He knows that the best way to assist those in police custody is to be considerate of their needs, and to hold the police to account to protect their rights and interests.
Luke has had many successes at the police station by judging correctly when it is in a client’s best interests to exercise their right to silence or when they should put forward an account. He also works to ensure the best outcomes possible in the magistrates’ court.
By his diligence, resolve, and knowledge of the law, Luke is an important member of the SMW team.
