Our client was invited to Holborn Police Station for a voluntary interview about an allegation of rape that had been made by his ex-partner. He was accused of raping his ex-partner at her house after dropping them off from school in 2024.

Our client has four children with his ex-partner but, the relationship had broken down about a year prior to his attendance at the police station. He and his ex-partner were currently in the midst of family court proceedings to determine custody of their children.

He strenuously denied ever raping his ex-partner and surmised that the allegation had been made by his ex-partner to strengthen her hand in the family court. Our client was nervous about answering police questions as he had never been interviewed by the police before. It was clear that there was no evidence against our client apart from his ex-partner’s account which was vague at best.

Luke advised our client to put forward a prepared statement outlining his denial and explaining that the allegations were being made were malicious and calculated to improve the complainant’s situation in the family court.

Several weeks later our client was informed that no further action would be taken against him by police. He was extremely satisfied with the outcome and plans to use the statement he put forward in police interview in his family court proceedings.
