Young Client Receives Suspended Sentence Order for Robbery
06 September 2026
Our client had been charged with a robbery that took place in 2024, having initially been released pending further investigation following arrest. In that time, he was convicted of a separate robbery and received an immediate custodial sentence for which we did not represent him. After his release from custody, he was then charged with the earlier offence.
A basis of plea was submitted on our client’s behalf which was accepted by the prosecution. We also obtained a psychologist report, pushed for an addendum pre-sentence report and prepared a detailed sentencing note. All of which persuaded the Judge not to send our client back to prison and instead impose 9 months imprisonment suspended for 12 months with days for rehabilitation and unpaid work requirements.
Our client was extremely happy with the result.
This case was prepared by Ellie Godwin, supervised by Daniel Cavaglieri. Elspeth Windsor was instructed Counsel.
