Sophie Drake

Sophie joined Sonn Macmillan Walker in September 2024 as a paralegal assistant to David Sonn and David Bloom.

Sophie provides invaluable support on a range of complex criminal and quasi-criminal and civil cases in all jurisdictions.

Sophie has particular experience assisting David Sonn in defending clients accused of serious sexual offences, serious driving offences and regulatory prosecutions. Working alongside Lead Counsel and David, Sophie has exceptional client care skills and a committed work ethic.

Sophie has gained considerable financial crime experience and has a forensic approach in working with David Bloom and David Sonn on POCA proceedings.

Prior to joining us, Sophie worked at the National Centre for Domestic Violence and then the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Kosovo. Sophie has an undergraduate degree from the University of Oxford and post-graduate degrees from the London School of Economics and City Law School.

Client receives suspended prison sentence in cannabis importation case

We represented a client charged with importing 15kg of cannabis through Heathrow Airport and secured a suspended prison sentence despite the seriousness of the offence.
